Hailing from Texas with a pronounced drawl and brash demeanor, Tay Money layers explicit rhymes across trap-flavored beats in a manner echoing Bhad Bhabie and Iggy Azalea. She gained traction toward the end of the 2010s after “Trapper’s Delight” became a viral sensation in 2018. Her first proper studio album, Hurricane Tay, arrived the following year, and she swiftly issued Blockedt in 2020.

Athens, Texas, is where she was born; in 2015 she relocated to Dallas intent on building a rap career. Initial releases and videos such as “Lewis & Clark,” “Na Na,” and “Moneyway” cultivated an online audience, yet it was the 2018 arrival of “Trapper’s Delight” that broadened her reach. That same year she also dropped the compilation The Lost Tapes and the DUH! EP. Capitalizing on the track’s momentum into 2019, she unveiled “High School” and “Fresh Princess,” her reinterpretation of the theme from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Hurricane Tay followed, spotlighting guest turns from DaBaby on “Booty” and YNW Melly on “Left Cheek, Right Cheek.” Her second album, Blockedt, appeared in 2020 and included Key Glock on “Friendly,” Latto on “Brat,” and Saweetie on “Bussin 2.0.” Additional joint efforts arrived later, among them the 2021 collaboration “Asthma Pump” with Flo Milli and 2022’s “Hello” alongside Saucy Santana.
