Biography
Rubi Rose entered the music industry by stepping away from modeling and video appearances alongside other rappers to craft her own recordings. Her first contribution arrived in 2018 as a featured artist on a Playboi Carti track, after which she showcased her bold, sexually explicit lyricism and fluid rhyme technique through the 2019 single “Big Mouth” and her eight-track 2020 debut mixtape For the Streets.
Born in Lexington, Kentucky in 1998, Rose spent her early years in Switzerland before relocating to Atlanta during her teenage period. She pursued modeling opportunities, notably appearing as one of the featured models in Migos’ 2016 hit “Bad and Boujee.” Additional video appearances followed around this period while her social media presence expanded. During her relationship with Playboi Carti she supplied a verse for his 2018 song “On Top.” Building on that initial rap experience, she refined her approach for the 2019 debut single “Trickin’.” Although the track generated considerable attention, it was surpassed by the June release of “Big Mouth” later that year. Rose then joined Hitco Entertainment and enjoyed a productive 2020 that included guest spots on tracks by Wiz Khalifa and Day Sulan, several new singles, and the rollout of For the Streets, which featured collaborations with Future and PARTYNEXTDOOR. That same year she joined the video for Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s international chart-topping single “WAP,” whose visual has since accumulated hundreds of millions of views. In 2021 Rose maintained momentum by issuing the singles “TWORK” and “Poke” while also appearing on joint recordings with Trap Manny and Dixie.
