Biography
Emerging from Belfast, the Irish alternative CCM group Bluetree came together centered on the skills of Aaron Boyd handling vocals and guitar, alongside Richard Bleakley on guitar, Ian Jordan on keyboards, Andrew McCann on bass, Peter Comfort on drums, and Peter Kernoghan as DJ. Their first full-length effort, Greater Things, came out in 2008 and earned both critical praise and commercial success in Ireland as well as abroad. The next year saw the arrival of their second album, God of This City, which the band itself characterized as a "convergence of worship, rock, and technology." Following the release of City, Bleakley, Jordan, and McCann departed, paving the way for the addition of Conor McCroy on guitar, Jonny Hobson on drums, and Pete Nickell on bass.
