Biography
Hailing from Liverpool, singer-songwriter Jamie Webster specializes in working-class rock and roll laced with folk accents, narrating ordinary experiences through his thick regional dialect. A devoted supporter of Liverpool Football Club since childhood, he once dreamed of turning professional on the pitch, yet by his early teens he recognized his limitations and shifted focus to music as his primary passion. At fifteen he joined a neighborhood band that ultimately disbanded without success; afterward he took up the acoustic guitar and began performing covers in local pubs once his workday ended. He soon started booking shows on match days for crowds of supporters, often slipping in club-associated numbers such as "You'll Never Walk Alone." Meanwhile he composed original pieces shaped by Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Paul Weller, Oasis, Kings of Leon, and Liverpool acts including the Beatles, Shack, and Cast. His breakthrough arrived when he adapted the chant "Allez, Allez, Allez" to the melody of a little-known 1980s Italo disco recording, generating an enormous viral response that led to a performance before 60,000 Liverpool fans in Madrid surrounding an away fixture. That visibility, combined with an existing base of sports enthusiasts, enabled him to pursue a full-time career in music. Collaborating with respected local producer Rich Turvey, he reworked his material for a complete band and captured it at the renowned Parr Street Studios. His debut original single, 2019’s "Weekend in Paradise," achieved immediate success and surpassed 100,000 streams in short order. Additional well-received singles ensued, resulting in the 2020 release of his first album, We Get By. The following year saw the arrival of Live from Parr Street Studios, followed later by the tracks "Davey Kane," "Going Out," and "Days Unknown," all of which were featured on the sophomore studio album Moments, produced by Dave Eringa.
