Biography
Newcastle's indie rock power trio the Pale White crafts a sound defined by raw distortion, heavy rhythms, and melodic hooks that evoke the alternative rock wave spanning the late 1990s and early 2000s. The group came together in 2016 when brothers Adam Hope on guitar and vocals and Jack Hope on drums joined forces with bassist Tom Booth. Their sound drew from Nirvana, Pixies, the Black Keys, Interpol, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and Queens of the Stone Age. After auditioning several candidates for a fourth spot without success, the musicians concluded that their strongest dynamic existed as a trio and committed to that lineup. Through local rehearsals and performances, they shared early tracks online and secured opening slots for Band of Skulls and Maximo Park, leading to the release of their self-titled debut EP on Ignition Records in 2017. The same year they appeared at Glastonbury on the BBC Introducing stage. Their follow-up EP, Take Me to the Strange, arrived in 2018. Live momentum grew through a U.K. tour alongside Twin Atlantic and a European run with fellow Geordie Sam Fender. Completed amid the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown, their first full-length album Infinite Pleasure came out in April 2021.
