Biography
Members of ska-punk outfit Five Iron Frenzy, Reese Roper on guitar and vocals, Dennis Culp on guitar, and Keith Hoerig on bass, channel a swirling spacedelic approach through Brave Saint Saturn during their time away from that band. Branding themselves pioneers of “astro-rock,” the trio pursues a space-pop vision built on an eclectic, noisy combination of turntables, strings, keyboards, and accordions. Sarabellum released the group’s first album, So Far from Home, in early 2000. Two years afterward Brave Saint Saturn joined Seattle’s Tooth & Nail and issued The Light of Things Hoped For within months of completing the contract.
