Biography
Superchick made their initial mark in 2001 via the Inpop release Karaoke Superstars, which blended buoyant popternative grooves with CCM positivity. Songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Max Hsu, formerly of Church of Rhythm, guided the group that also featured vocalist Tricia Brock alongside her sister Melissa Brock on guitar and vocals, plus guitarist Justin Sharboro, drummer Brian, and bassist Matt Dally. After the debut album’s arrival, the band logged extensive road time while strategic placements, including the soundtrack for Legally Blonde, expanded their reach and advanced a message of empowerment rooted in Christianity. October 2002 brought the follow-up Last One Picked, packed with crunchy pop-punk tracks. A year after that came the remix collection Regeneration.
