Biography
It was in 2001 that Addison Road first emerged, fusing alternative pop/rock textures with Christian themes, after Baylor University students Jenny Chisolm and Ryan Simmons—who would later marry—accepted a well-paying invitation to perform at a youth group event. Without an existing group, the pair swiftly recruited bassist Travis Lawrence, drummer Jeff Sutton, and guitarist Ryan Gregg to complete the lineup. The performance proved successful, prompting the quintet to continue, and after graduation the members relocated to Dallas to sharpen their songwriting while leading worship services at a local church. Fronted by Jenny Simmons’ vocals, the band maintained an intense touring pace and issued three independent releases—Always Loved You, Breaking Beautifully, and Some Kind of Spark—before securing a contract with the Christian label INO Records in 2007. Their self-titled INO debut appeared the following March, lifted by the strong showing of “All That Matters” on the country’s Christian charts. A second album, Stories, arrived in 2010.
