Jonny Diaz

Raised in Florida and now based in Oregon, CCM singer Jonny Diaz crafts an easygoing acoustic pop sound frequently likened to the work of Brandon Heath, John Mayer, Dave Barnes, and Bebo Norman. A standout baseball prospect from a family rich in major-league ability—his brother Matt reached the majors—Diaz accepted a full athletic scholarship to Florida State University. One year into his collegiate career, he sensed a vocational change and turned toward music, issuing his independent debut Shades of White in August 2003. Two further independent albums, Everyday God and They Need Love, followed before his breakthrough arrived in 2009 with the chart-topping More Beautiful You on Sony’s INO Records imprint. The self-titled Jonny Diaz appeared two years later, and in 2014 Centricity Music released his third major-label effort, Let It Fly. The Chad Copelin-produced EP Everything Is Changing came out the next year. Diaz resurfaced in 2017 with the single “Whole World.”
