Biography
Breathe Atlantis first surfaced in the early 2010s, weaving a versatile sound that drew on R&B, metalcore, soaring alternative pop, and progressive electronic music. Hailing from Essen, Germany, the quartet features vocalist Nico Schiesewitz, guitarist Joschka Basteck, bassist Jan Euler, and drummer Markus Harazim. Their independently released debut Shorelines arrived in 2014, introducing lush harmonies, complex riffs, seismic shouts, and dancefloor-tailored beats to listeners. Extensive live appearances alongside Memphis May Fire, Like Moths to Flames, and Attila soon cultivated an overseas following. German indie Redfield issued the Dan Korneff-produced sophomore album Futurestories in 2016. The band then signed with Arising Empire, a Nuclear Blast imprint, which released the third full-length Soulmade in January 2019.
