The metalcore act Any Given Day fuses punishing deathcore elements with progressive metal while letting its distinctive melodic strength stand out across releases such as the 2014 debut My Longest Way Home and 2019’s Overpower. With Limitless arriving in 2024, the group further set itself apart by merging neck-snapping breakdowns with uplifting themes.

Formed in 2012 in Germany’s Gelsenkirchen by vocalist Dennis Diehl, guitarists Andy Posdziech and Dennis Ter Schmitten, bassist Michael Golinski, and drummer Raphael Altmann, the quintet issued a self-released demo that October. Local metal gigs quickly followed, allowing the band to cultivate a devoted following. Over the subsequent two years the members tracked their first full-length, My Longest Way Home, which Redfield Records put out in 2014; the album entered the German charts immediately. A sold-out national tour ensued and was later captured on the live video My Longest Way Home: Rise to Success. Support dates alongside Caliban and Bury Tomorrow preceded work on the next record.

Guitarist Andy Posdziech again handled production for the 2016 follow-up Everlasting, still issued by Redfield. The album maintained the band’s heavy metalcore approach, with Diehl shifting between guttural screams and radio-friendly harmonies; a guest appearance by Trivium’s Matt Heafy broadened its reach, and it debuted at number 14 on the German national charts. Additional touring supported the release until the group exited its label. In 2018 Any Given Day joined Arising Empire, a Nuclear Blast subsidiary, for its third album. Overpower surfaced at the start of 2019 and drove the sound into more aggressive territory while retaining the melodic hooks of prior material.

On the fourth album, Limitless, the band emphasized taut melodic riffage and punitive breakdowns, all wrapped in the glossy studio sheen and optimistic lyrics that have positioned Any Given Day among metalcore’s more approachable outfits.
