Biography
Buckshot, a member of the celebrated underground rap collective Black Moon from the 1990s alongside producer Evil Dee and fellow MC 5Ft, put out his debut solo effort The BDI Thug in 1999 through Duckdown, which later put forth an expanded edition in 2003. Joining forces with 9th Wonder, the producer known for collaborations with Little Brother, Murs, and Jay-Z, Buckshot delivered Chemistry in 2005, an album that revealed a more mature and less violent persona while restoring some of the acclaim he had previously earned with Black Moon. The partnership proved effective enough for the pair to reunite in 2008, issuing The Formula that April.
