Britain's Caity Baser serves up feisty pop whose candid lyrics confront romantic entanglements alongside personal worries, rapidly winning over audiences. She stepped into view in 2021 via the mixtape Lil CB, which brought nominations for BBC Sound of 2024 and the Brit Rising Star award ahead of her second collection, Still Learning, arriving in 2024.

Southampton-born and raised, Baser had already been composing and tracking material when she began posting during the opening COVID-19 lockdown of 2020. Those uploads quickly assembled a following for her direct songs about relationships and daily life, drawing interest from a London management company. She issued her debut single "Average Student" in 2021; a rapid succession of further tracks then led to Lil CB. Additional releases the next year delivered her first U.K. singles-chart appearance with "X&Y" and a contract with EMI Records. In 2023 she released the EP Thanks for Nothing, See You Never, home to the Top 30 track "Pretty Boys," before launching her first headline U.K. tour. Further songs appeared, setting the stage for the early-2024 arrival of her second mixtape, Still Learning.
