Biography
In 2016 Castell, a Swedish electronic producer and songwriter, first surfaced with the single "You Got It Wrong." Built on a bass-heavy house foundation, the track deployed hypnotic bell drops and a throbbing beat, textures the artist had already tested in earlier releases issued under the name SAL. The Stockholm native began drawing listeners in 2014 through remixes of Style of Eye's "Kids" and "The Game," two tracks helmed by mentor Linus Eklow of Galantis. Once Eklow brought him into his circle, Castell booked studio time with Miike Snow to lay down original material. Issued in March 2016, "You Got It Wrong" accumulated one million streams within two months.
