Biography
Chris Eaton entered the world on September 16, 1958, and spent his early years in England’s West Midlands, absorbing sounds that stretched from Deep Purple to Cliff Richard—a breadth that later proved valuable across his work as a singer, songwriter, and producer. In the 1980s he belonged to the band Lyrix before exiting to deliver his first solo album, Vision, in 1986. After that release he turned his attention to supporting positions that, though less visible, remained central to the music business. His songwriting credits reached Christian performers such as Susan Ashton and Margaret Becker as well as artists in other fields, among them Sheena Easton, Vince Gill, and Boney James. He also contributed backing vocals to projects by Michael English, Twila Paris, and Michael W. Smith. The 1995 album Wonderful World connected with listeners in the Christian market, helped along by the track “Everlasting Love.” Eaton’s third solo outing, What Kind Of Love, followed in 1998 and contained several songs written with Amy Grant.
