Biography
Having earned the Gospel Group of the Year designation on three separate occasions, the vocal quartet 4Him came together in 1990 when several members broke away from the established choral ensemble Truth. Kirk Sullivan served as the group’s frontman when they issued their debut, the self-titled 4Him, that same year on the Benson label. Over the ensuing four years the ensemble followed with Face the Nation, The Basics of Life, The Season of Love, and The Ride. After maintaining a full touring schedule throughout 1995, 4Him returned to the studio for 1996’s The Message. Obvious appeared two years after that release, and Hymns: A Place of Worship reached listeners in 2000. Several video projects were also produced, among them the concert recording The Ride Comes Alive. The retrospective Chapter One …A Decade surfaced in 2001 and was succeeded by the subsequent albums Walk On, Visible, and Encore...For Future Generations.
