Biography
A native of Tigard, Oregon, singer/songwriter Christian Burghardt displayed early musical talent by performing karaoke at family gatherings and later picking up the guitar during his teenage years. Enrolled in pre-med studies while playing football at Oregon State University, he sustained an injury on the field that led him, during his dorm-room recovery, to begin composing and tracking his own material. Burghardt’s soulful voice and relaxed acoustic pop approach soon found him writing and playing shows throughout the Portland region. After suffering a second football injury, producer Camus Celli reached out to him and arranged a trip to Los Angeles for an audition in front of songwriter/producer Dr. Luke and the RCA-owned Kemosabe label. In 2014 he issued his first EP, Safe Place to Land, and toured in support of Gavin DeGraw and Matt Nathanson. Early the following year he released the duet single “Whiskey and Wine” with Cady Groves.
