Christopher Lawrence stands out as a leading figure in progressive trance and psytrance, having climbed to the pinnacle of the scene through a series of mix compilations, original productions, and remixes for other artists. From his emergence in the late 1990s onward, he accumulated numerous honors and distinctions, earning consistent placement among the foremost trance performers during the opening years of the 2010s. DJ Mag placed the club and festival mainstay at number 40 on its all-time DJ ranking in 2013.

Lawrence issued his debut mix album, Rise, on the Fragrant imprint in 1997, only a short while after beginning to DJ. The following year brought a production deal with Scotland’s Hook Recordings, after which “Navigator” and “Shredder” registered as notable British club successes that broadened his international profile. Two further compilations arrived in 1999: Temptation, released via City of Angels, and the Hook Recordings retrospective. Moonshine Music next enlisted him for Trilogy, Part One: Empire in 2000—his fourth mix set—followed soon by United States of Trance on the same label. His first artist album, All or Nothing, surfaced in 2004 and was joined later that year by Un-Hooked: The Hook Sessions.

Throughout the second half of the decade Lawrence maintained a steady output of 12-inch singles, frequently alongside Nicholas Bennison, John 00 Fleming, and Dave Audé, alongside several additional mix projects, most prominently Gatecrasher: Live in Moscow in 2007. In the 2010s his attention turned primarily to his own digital-only Pharmacy imprint, which hosted further solo and joint productions as well as material from various peers. He also prepared the Moist Music compilation Rush Hour, titled after his long-running syndicated radio program, and its 2013 follow-up appeared on Pharmacy.
