Matt Darey

Matt Darey, a U.K. producer and DJ, emerged as a pivotal force in the evolution of dance music, with particular impact on trance. He put out his debut single in 1992, then quickly secured a deal with Warner Bros. and proceeded to deliver numerous tracks either solo, through assorted pseudonyms such as his role in Lost Tribe, or via joint projects with fellow artists. Among these releases were the 1994 single "Point Zero," the 2000 track "Beautiful," and the full Euphoria series. Darey paused his career in 2000 for a global trip, came back to the studio in 2003, and launched his independent imprint Darey Productions. The Point Zero EP, featuring the namesake track, reached American listeners in 2005, soon followed by Upfront Trance, a collection of remixes and new material that the DJ described as a mirror of his club performances. Nocturnal appeared in 2007 as a roundup drawn from his identically titled radio program.
