Biography
Crying originated as an indie trio in the college town of Purchase, New York, where their melodic approach began with Gameboy-driven chiptune pop before expanding into denser classic rock textures inspired by the 1970s and 1980s. The lineup features Elaiza Santos on vocals, Ryan Galloway handling guitars, synths, and Gameboy, and Nick Corbo on drums. The band first showcased its 8-bit-assisted pop style with the 2014 EP Get Olde, which Run for Cover later paired that same year with the Second Wind EP for a combined reissue. After spending a couple of years on the road with groups including Modern Baseball and Somos, Crying issued its debut full-length, Beyond the Fleeting Gales, in 2016.
