Drawing from an eclectic mix of sounds, the Puerto Rican quartet Da' Zoo could easily register as a Latin counterpart to the Black Eyed Peas, yet their playful costumes and brightly upbeat tracks also nod to '90s dance-pop outfits such as Deee-Lite and LEN. Charly "Zoo" Rodríguez had previously performed with Marco, while Freddie "Yo-Fred" Lugo played in Sí Señor; the pair eventually joined forces to sketch out an entirely new venture. Once they added Raul "Raggi" Quezada and Elizabeth "Eli-Joe" Fuentes, the four settled on the name Da' Zoo after Charly noted that they were "four animals making music" while sequestered in the studio. Following their Sony/BMG deal, the single "Chitu" surfaced toward the end of 2008 and their self-titled debut album appeared the following spring. By 2011 the act resurfaced as a duo comprising Charly Zoo and Kai Zoo, fronted by the hit single "La La La (Hot Girls)." The follow-up hit "Sin Ti" arrived in 2015.
