De Staat

The alternative rock outfit De Staat, known for its enthusiastic quirkiness, came together in Nijmegen, Netherlands, back in 2006. Torre Florim, who handled vocals, songwriting, and guitar duties, started the band during his high school years. Joining him were Vedran Mircetic on guitar, Jop van Summeren handling bass, Rocco Bell on keyboards, and Tim van Delft behind the drums. Their first album, Wait for Evolution, came out in January 2009. Machinery appeared two years afterward, with I_Con arriving in 2013. In 2014, the EP Vinticious Versions offered new takes on tracks from the initial trio of albums. Early 2016 saw the arrival of their fourth studio effort, O. The band captured and blended this record inside their freshly established rehearsal and studio facility, once the music venue Doornroosje prior to its move.
