Endlec, a producer and DJ based in Thessaloniki, Greece, first encountered rave sounds during extended car journeys with his father that featured selections from Josh Wink and Danny Tenaglia. Further exploration led him to the Prodigy, after which an older cousin guided him toward techno. Regular visits to that cousin in Berlin allowed Endlec to return home carrying stacks of vinyl purchased from neighborhood shops. He soon began producing his own material, drawing from the foundational Detroit techno aesthetic and the late-’90s Birmingham approach associated with Surgeon and Regis to create dense, ominous tracks. His initial releases surfaced in 2014 on Authentic Pew and Arts, yet wider recognition arrived the next year via Bas Mooy’s Mord imprint. The Abyss Gazes Also EP demonstrated his interpretation of classic techno and quickly drew notice. Still in 2015 he issued a follow-up Mord release, Theories and Subjects of Substance, while European DJ engagements established him as a steady presence within the scene. During 2016 he placed EPs with Old and Young, Children of Tomorrow, and KR/LF, then revisited Mord in 2017 for New Age Dystopia. Working alongside Sawf and ANFS to advance the local Greek techno community, he issued Born from Chaos on Athens-based Analogue Records. Subsequent DJ appearances and live sets occupied his schedule until another Mord outing, the 2018 Rotten Nation EP, appeared.
