Lewis Fautzi

Hailing from Barcelos, Portugal, where he was born in 1991, Luis Gonçalves began crafting techno productions while still young. Deep, hypnotic cuts issued under the aliases Lewis Fautzi and Nuklear Default soon drew interest from European DJs and labels, yielding multiple releases on Soniculture, Figure, Spark Musik, and Konstrukt Records. In 2013 he launched his own imprint, Faut Section, to issue raw, minimal techno by kindred artists. His debut album, The Gare Album, appeared on Soma in 2014 and displayed his command of driving dance tracks alongside an outward gaze toward outer space. Fully committed to that theme, he followed with the 2015 mini-album Space Exploration. EPs on Soma, Figure, and Warm Up Recordings then led to the full-length The Ascension of Mind, released by PoleGroup in 2017.
