Enthroned

Belgian death metal outfit Enthroned came together toward the end of 1993 when vocalist and bassist Lord Sabathan teamed with drummer Cernunnos, both of whom had earlier played together in Morbid Death. Once ex-Slanesh guitarist Tsebaoth joined, the trio laid down an initial demo and then a split EP shared with Ancient Rites. After issuing the 1995 full-length Prophecies of Pagan Fire, the group welcomed second guitarist Nornagest and soon replaced Tsebaoth with Nebiros. Tragedy hit in April 1997 when Cernunnos took his own life, yet the remaining members continued and completed Towards the Skullthrone of Satan; the following year they issued the mini-LP Regie Sathanas: A Tribute to Cernunnos, now featuring drummer Namroth Blackthorn. Apocalypse Manifesto surfaced in 1999. Entering the new decade, the band delivered Armoured Bestial Hell during summer 2001, Carnage in Worlds Beyond in 2002, Xes Haereticum in 2005, and Tetra Karcist in 2007. Early in 2008 Enthroned signed with Regain Records and began work on their eighth studio album, Pentagrammaton, which appeared in 2010. Obsidium followed in 2012 on Agonia, as did Sovereigns two years later. In 2017 the four-disc box set Blackend Years collected the quartet of albums the band had originally released through the storied metal imprint Blackend.
