Biography
Eric Chesser initially performed as a conventional country artist whose material centered on romance, seasonal themes, and gridiron life before recasting his persona as a polished vocalist on the 2019 debut EP Jeans and a Flannel. During this shift he incorporated R&B grooves alongside country-pop textures, arriving at a relaxed style best illustrated by the amorous 2020 release “Date Night.”
Born in Illinois, Chesser took up an instrument in childhood after watching his grandfather perform. Through his formative years he balanced sports, outdoor pursuits, and songwriting with equal focus. Following completion of his legal studies he relocated to Nashville with the goal of building a country career. Modeling his approach on classic figures such as George Strait, he issued the first single “Tailgate” in 2015, then “I Can't Read Your Mind” in 2016 and “Good Times & Summer Days” in 2017. Following the 2018 track “Yes,” he unveiled the digital EP Jeans and a Flannel in 2019. With the arrival of “Date Night” in 2020, Chesser refined his earlier edges and moved fully into the role of country crooner.
