Erreway, the Argentine pop quartet also styled as R Way, first reached South American youth through their portrayals of the central characters on the widely watched television series Rebelde Way. Luisiana Lopilato, Camila Bordonaba, Benjamin Rojas, and Felipe Columbo performed on that program across 2002 and 2003, an engagement that led directly to the 2004 feature film 4 Caminos. Their opening album Senales, issued the same year as their television debut, registered immediate success in Argentina by moving more than one million copies. A subsequent sold-out appearance at the Gran Rex, among the country’s premier concert halls, followed the record’s arrival. One year afterward, in April 2003, the group delivered its second album Tiempo, which surpassed two million units and ranked among the year’s strongest sellers. Memoria, their third project, featured the majority of the 4 Caminos soundtrack, its release timed to coincide with the movie’s summer 2004 premiere. Although the quartet formally disbanded soon after, three of the four members staged a concert in Israel in 2006. The performance yielded Erreway’s first live album and DVD, Erreway en Concierto, made available that September. During their four-year span the band attained widespread recognition across South America, Central America, Spain, and Israel. Their combined stage and screen achievements opened pathways for solo work by each participant. Lopilato, Borbonaba, Colombo, and Rojas have all sustained active screen careers in multiple Latin American film and television productions.
