The tradition of great singing in Italy found fresh extension through Milan-born vocalist Fabio Concato. Drawing inspiration from American pop music, he placed the ode "To Dean Martin" on his debut release, the 1977 album Storie di Sempre, and two years afterward presented the harmonica work of Toots Thielemans on his third album, Zio Tom. International notice arrived with his self-titled album in 1984. Exceeding 200 thousand copies in sales, the albums produced hit singles such as "Guido Piano," "Rosalina," "Fiore Di Maggio," and "Senza Auvisare." Following 1992, Concato maintained frequent collaborations with American record producer Phil Ramone.
