Biography
Frank Ceara’s sensuous baritone has secured him a place among the leading figures in Dominican pop. The 1994 release “Lluvia De Besos (Rain of Kisses)” served as the theme for the telenovela Amor De Papel and quickly reached the summit of the Latin American charts. Two Casandra awards arrived in 1997, followed by an ASCAP Award for the ballad “Ednita.”
Attention first came to his romantic delivery in the early eighties through his role in the quartet Emotions under the direction of Molina Papa. During his teenage years and early twenties he contributed to numerous radio jingles and supplied backing vocals for Juan Luis Guerra, Emmanuel, Olga Tanon, Serrat, and Celia Cruz. As lead singer of the early-nineties Dominican rock outfit Empiphis, he appeared at the Expo in Seville, Spain, and at the Festival of the Vine of the Sea in Chile. Duets with Audrey Campos began in 1991 and have continued regularly. Beyond extensive Central American tours, he has held extended residencies at the Capri Café, Hotel Santo Domingo in Hispaniola, and Music of the Gamon in Santiago.
