Biography
Hammer Fight came together in 2011 as a no-nonsense, decibel-crushing hard rock/heavy metal quartet from New Jersey. Bassist/vocalist Drew Murphy, drummer Justin Spaeth, and guitarists Todd Stern and Dan Higgins make up the lineup, which characterizes its own style as "a cross between Slayer, Motörhead, and beer" while pointing to NWOBHM and early thrash acts such as Iron Maiden and Testament for inspiration. The group delivered its self-titled debut EP soon after formation, then followed with the well-received first full-length Chug of War in 2013. In the next year the quartet signed with Napalm Records, and that label released the band’s second studio album, Profound and Profane, in early 2016.
