Formed initially as Locrian in Tempe, Arizona, in 2002 by frontman/guitarist David DiSanto, the punishing progressive thrash metal unit Vektor later shifted its operations to Philadelphia. The group formally adopted the Vektor name in 2004 and rose swiftly to prominence in the area’s thriving metal community, appearing alongside notable national acts including Testament, Iced Earth, and Municipal Waste. After issuing the self-released demo Demolition in 2006, the band launched regional and national tours that led to a contract with Heavy Artillery Records. Black Future, their debut album for the label, reached the market in 2009, followed by the sophomore release Outer Isolation in 2011. The next year brought a move to Earache Records along with the Philadelphia relocation, setting the stage for Terminal Redux—their third studio long player and first Earache effort—which appeared in 2016.
