Biography
Emerging from Finland, Lost Society summons the force of thrash metal’s founding titans to shape its boisterous, tradition-rooted metal-revival approach. The group’s earliest work recalled the thick, riff-laden endurance pieces that defined 1980s metal, echoing the classic thrash style forged by Anthrax and Metallica, whereas later albums No Absolution (2020) and If the Sky Came Down (2022) shifted toward a current, metalcore-infused direction.
Formed in 2010, the band drew global notice by entering the Global Battle of the Bands, claiming the domestic title before reaching the finals staged in London, England. Noted for their high-energy newcomer status, they secured a contract with storied metal label Nuclear Blast, which issued the debut Fast Loud Death in 2013. The breakneck second album Terror Hungry appeared in 2014, followed by the darker and heavier Braindead in 2016. Thrash was set aside entirely on No Absolution (2020), which incorporated hardcore and groove-metal elements, while the metalcore and nu-metal emphasis of If the Sky Came Down persisted into 2022.
