Biography
While employed in electrical work, Stagg encountered Swiss harp sensation Andreas Vollenweider during a live performance, an experience that prompted the Northern California native to pursue exhaustive knowledge of the electro-acoustic harp. Several years afterward he began issuing his own recordings, drawing on his electrical expertise to customize amplification for the gentle, atmospheric soundscapes he was shaping. He further acknowledges the lyrical melodic approaches of Loggins & Messina, the Doobie Brothers, and the Moody Blues among his formative influences. Across successive releases Stagg has steadily refined his command of both performance and composition.
