Biography
Formed in the Danish city of Århus during 1991, Illdisposed stand among the nation’s most enduring and esteemed death metal acts. Their initial demo, The Winter of Our Discontempt, proved potent enough to secure a recording contract without delay. Fronted by the singularly named vocalist Bo Summer—whose appellation remains striking even in death metal—and guitarist Lasse Bak, the band rarely sustained a consistent membership for extended periods. Nevertheless they issued a succession of recordings that encompassed Four Depressive Seasons in 1993, the Return from Tomorrow EP in 1994, Submit in 1995, There’s Something Rotten in the State of Denmark in 1997, and the covers collection Retro in 2000. From 2001 onward Bo Summer began dividing his schedule between Illdisposed and fellow Danish death metal group Panzerchrist, yet he still reassembled his original band for Kokaiinum that same year, 1-800 Vindication in 2004, and the industrial-leaning Burn Me Wicked in 2006.
