Emerging from R&B into hip-hop circles as both singer and rapper, Rodriquez Jacquees Broadnax performs simply as Jacquees once he leaves studio sessions behind. His sleek, seductive tracks blend modern production with echoes of early inspirations, always aiming to lift the mood of anyone listening. Numerous collaborations have linked him to figures such as Chris Brown, Young Thug, and Trey Songz. Following his 2011 start and a string of mixtapes, EPs, and singles that included the successes “B.E.D.” and “At the Club” with DeJ Loaf, he issued his Cash Money debut full-length, 4275, in 2018. That project entered the Billboard 200’s Top 40 and opened doors for King of R&B, which landed at number 20 the next year. After the 2020 mixtape Exit 68, he joined Chris Brown on the Top Ten R&B track “Put in Work” and dropped further singles alongside Latto, Future, and 2 Chainz during 2021. Sincerely for You surfaced in 2022 as his third album to reach the charts, while Baby Making, his fourth studio effort, arrived in 2024.

Raised in Decatur, Georgia, Jacquees first encountered the music of the Jacksons and the Temptations through early-’90s television biopics rather than original recordings. Appearances at talent shows attracted agents and led to behind-the-scenes roles before he stepped forward as a solo artist. The 2011 EP I Am Jacquees marked that launch, highlighted by the single “Krazy” featuring T.I. The mixtape Round of Applause came next, followed by Fan Affiliated in 2012 and QueMix in 2013.

Chris Brown, Lloyd, and additional guests appeared on the self-released 2014 EP 19, which secured a Cash Money recording deal. Under the new agreement Jacquees delivered QueMix 2 plus multiple singles in 2015, then the Mood mixtape in January 2016. A joint project with labelmate Birdman produced the Lost at Sea EP later that year. January 2017 saw Since You Playin’, helmed by Nash B, while another team-up with Detroit’s DeJ Loaf yielded the Fuck a Friendzone mixtape. Their second pairing, “At the Club,” arrived before year’s end.

June 2018 brought the debut studio album 4275, which peaked at number 35 on the Billboard 200 and number three on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart while generating the hits “You” and “Inside” featuring Trey Songz. A further Birdman collaboration, the mixtape Lost at Sea II, followed in November. November 2019 then delivered the sophomore album King of R&B, boasting guests including YSL labelmates Lil Keed and Lil Baby. Powered by the single “Verify” with Young Thug and Gunna, it reached number 20 on the Billboard 200 and number four on the R&B chart. Exit 68 arrived as another mixtape in 2020, coinciding with the release of “Put In Work” alongside Chris Brown. The 2021 single “Freaky as Me” featured Latto, with “Not Just Anybody” (featuring Future) and “Land of the Free” (featuring 2 Chainz) coming afterward. Executive-produced by Future, the mature third album Sincerely for You appeared at the close of 2022, including appearances by Summer Walker, 21 Savage, and 6LACK; it debuted at number 163 on the Billboard 200 and number 20 on the R&B/hip-hop tally. Early 2024 introduced the mixtape Back to Me, setting the stage for the November release of the album Baby Making.
