Jay Watts, an American singer, songwriter, and producer recognized for his soulful voice along with a distinctive flair for fashion, draws on a broad stylistic range that fuses hip-hop, rock, pop, and country. Among the artists he lists as influences are Prince, Cher, Ne-Yo, Justin Timberlake, Madonna, and Jimi Hendrix. After refining his craft through studio work, he attracted the interest of multi-platinum producer Reefa (Lil Wayne, Rick Ross), who offered him a production deal. His first single, "Millionaire Club," appeared in 2014 and was followed by live appearances with T-Pain, Meek Mill, Diggy Simmons, Flo-Rida, and others. The follow-up track "My Dreams" secured him a contract with Lava Records, leading to his official debut single, "How You Feel," in 2015. Later releases "Live Life," "IDGAF," "Speeding," and "That's Not Me" earned both critical and commercial recognition, while 2017 brought the placement of "Watch Me Walk" in the superhero film Power Rangers. Also that year came "Single Friends," produced by Reefa and 12 Keyz.
