Biography
Although OutKast and Anthony Hamilton rank among the southeast greats who inspire him, John Givez—a rapper and singer—came into the world and spent his formative years in Oceanside, located in southern California, where he works as a Christian artist. Drawing on his religious background and the unsettled conditions of his upbringing, he addresses ordinary hardships while offering encouragement. Early projects include The Little Engine That Could, Mind Over Matter, and Four Seasons. Soul Rebel, issued in 2015, proved pivotal, entering Billboard’s rap albums chart at number ten. A frequent collaborator, Givez has contributed to tracks by his cousin JGivens along with Beleaf, Ruslan, Swoope, and Serene, among others.
