Biography
Associated with Chicago's drill scene, Johnny May Cash works as a rapper whose output includes straightforward narratives of urban existence delivered via a fluid style that sometimes shifts toward singing enhanced by Auto-Tune. In 2012, at the age of 17, he made his initial appearances on mixtapes from Chief Keef and Lil Reese. The year 2013 saw the release of his first mixtape, Paranoid, which drew the interest of Young Chop; this led to a signing with Chop Squad, whose founder also handled production duties on a substantial portion of Cash's material. The year 2015 brought multiple projects such as My Last Days and I'm My Favorite Rapper, coinciding with Cash's growth in popularity via social media platforms. Additionally, he contributed to the debut album from Future Brown, a club supergroup signed to Warp. In 2017, Thank God for the Swoop was issued.
