Biography
Seattle’s Kane Hodder grasp the blueprint followed by most current screamo acts, above all the interplay of tuneful vocals against piercing screams inside a single tension-laden track. That grasp equips the band to venture beyond the style’s apparent boundaries, overturn expectations, and forge a sound that is unmistakably theirs. Their wide-ranging approach—an energetic fusion of rock that pulls equally from progressive and glam traditions as from post-hardcore and indie pop—has placed them on bills alongside Pretty Girls Make Graves, MXPX, Phantom Planet, and These Arms Are Snakes. The lineup comprises vocalist Andrew Moore, bassist Nick Cates, drummer Charley Potter, and guitarists Eric Christianson and Jeremy White. In 2004 the group issued two recordings: the EP Frank Exploration of Voyeurism and Violence on Cowboy Versus Sailor and the album The Pleasure to Remain So Heartless on Suburban Home. The following year Kane Hodder joined the Fueled by Ramen roster, which issued a new edition of the full-length featuring fresh artwork and an added DVD in April. During spring 2006 White and Cates departed, yet the remaining members carried on writing fresh songs and performing live.
