KC Lights

Scottish electronic producer and DJ KC Lights delivers bright euphoric house and upbeat techno in the style of Disclosure, Gorgon City, and Matoma. Born Kerr Slaven in Rothesay, Isle of Bute, he developed into a multi-instrumentalist who first took up the saxophone at age six. After earning a university music degree in 2012, he turned his energies toward songwriting. The Cheap Thrills label issued his earliest material, among them the 2013 track “Impressions,” which appeared on one of the imprint’s compilations. His breakthrough arrived in 2015 with the singles “Lose It All” and “No No No,” each earning airplay from BBC1’s Annie Mac and Pete Tong. In 2016 he joined Mike Mago for “Daylight” on the Spinnin’ label, while Nothing Else Matters released the hit “Temptation” that summer.
