Keith Robinson

An acting career that commenced unexpectedly in the early 2000s diverted Keith Robinson from his intended path as a soul-rooted R&B performer. After relocating from his native Kentucky to Los Angeles with a Motown-signed group that ultimately achieved no success, he decided to enroll in an acting class. This choice triggered a chain of lucky occurrences resulting in his involvement in the Power Rangers series. Even as he secured parts in various television shows and films, Robinson kept focusing on music; notable among these was his portrayal of Bill in the 2004 movie Fat Albert, where, credited as Black Keith, he contributed the track "I'm in Love" to the accompanying soundtrack. His profile grew substantially thanks to the acclaimed Dreamgirls in 2006, in which he portrayed C.C. White, a figure inspired by Smokey Robinson, and the song "Patience" featuring Anika Noni Rose and Eddie Murphy earned an Academy Award nomination. Over the following years, he took on parts in This Christmas, Dear John, and 35 and Ticking while issuing sporadic solo singles such as "The One," "Red Eye," and "Same Rules." Two releases from 2015 paved the way for his debut full-length project, Love Episodic, which arrived at the beginning of 2016.
