In 2007 Kenza Farah emerged as the French music industry’s first breakthrough propelled entirely by online momentum when Authentik surged into the Top Five amid widespread digital attention. As a teenager she began performing Celine Dion covers on Marseille’s local circuit and quickly became a hometown favorite. She soon started composing original material and drew further Web notice via her personal blog. Blending a hard-edged hip-hop approach with confessional R&B balladry, Farah secured a deal with the Parisian imprint Karismatik in 2006. That same year she issued an LP along with the hit single “Je Me Bats,” followed by her debut album Authentik, which earned gold status within two weeks of release. Avec le Coeur arrived in 2008 as a double album that enlisted Psy 4 De La Rime and Nina Sky, while the expansive 2010 set Trésor again showcased her abundant songwriting and steadily evolving artistry. Her fourth album, 4 Love, appeared in 2012 and featured the single “Coup de cœur” with Soprano of Psy 4 de la Rime.
