Lynda, born Lynda Aguirre Thomas, first explored singing purely as a childhood pastime at age six. Her earliest stage experience arrived in 1989 through participation in the children's contest Fantasia Musical. Following counsel from her sister Alissa, she partnered with producer Carlos Lara to establish herself as a solo performer, issuing a self-titled debut album in 1996. Un Grito En El Corazón appeared the next year, prompting her subsequent relocation to Los Angeles, CA, where she pursued studies in music and English. Mi Dia De La Independencia marked her initial international release in May 2000 and included the hit single "No Quiero Verte." She also supplied the tracks "A Mil Por Hora" and "Laberinto" for the soundtrack of Primer Amor, the popular Mexican soap opera that starred singer/actress Anahí.
