Biography
Born Chérifa Babouche on January 25, 1989, in Evreux, France, Sheryfa Luna captured the top prize during the fourth season of the French reality television talent show Popstars. Her debut full-length project, Sheryfa Luna, reached stores in November 2007. While competing on the program that propelled her to prominence, she had been carrying a child without her knowledge and simultaneously landed the year’s number-one single, “Somewhere.” Once her son arrived in 2008, she returned to the studio and issued her sophomore album, Vénus—titled after the infant—before the calendar year ended. The former Popstars contestant then completed her third studio effort, Si Tu Me Vois, two years afterward.
