Nicolas Scaravilli, widely recognized under the alias Kid Crème, stands as an internationally acclaimed house DJ, producer, and remixer with deep ties to Junior Jack and the Defected label collective. Born in 1974 in Brussels, Belgium, to an Italian family, he entered the electronic dance music world in the early '90s. At that time he shared resident duties at Club XXX, the house night hosted by Theatre of Vaudeville, alongside DJ Murvin Jay (Francis Shabard); he also served as assistant engineer at Let's Go Studios, where he first connected with Vito Lucente, later known as Junior Jack; and he established a personal home studio.

In the mid-'90s Scaravilli launched DTM Recordz, issuing his own material under the SDP name, including Back to the House of Pain in 1996, Nevralgia in 1997, and Logical Drums that same year. He further placed tracks on Drop Dead Discs as Scaravilli, most prominently a 1996 reworking of L.T. Project's "Boom." Two additional remixes credited to Junior Vasquez appeared around then—"Reap [What You Sow]" in 1995 and "Lift Me Up"—the latter marking an early partnership with Lucente. Toward the decade's close he delivered a version of Lustral's "Everytime" (1997) for Hooj Choons and, under the Sharpside banner with Psychogene (David Garcia), released Critical Freaks in 1999 on Records Deluxe, the first in a string of outings for the label.

Scaravilli introduced the Kid Crème identity in 2000 via "Austin's Groove" on Jalapeno Records. Erick Morillo's subsequent remix, featuring added vocals from Shawnee Taylor, surfaced in the United Kingdom on Ink Records and in the United States on Subliminal Records, rapidly achieving widespread club success. Follow-up Kid Crème cuts "Down and Under" and "Hypnotising" likewise circulated internationally and gained traction throughout 2002 and 2003. Parallel activity included Niquid releases—Background (2001), Italian Style, Vol. 3 (2001), and Saxaphobia (2002)—alongside Monkey Boie Rascal singles Everybody, Clap Your Hands, and Dark Taste, all from 2002. Remix credits from the period encompass Kluster's "My Love" (2001), Shakedown's "At Night" (2002), Thick Dick's "Insatiable" (2002), Kylie Minogue's "Love at First Sight" (2002), Junior Jack's "Thrill Me" (2002), and Planet Funk's "Inside All the People" (2003).

At the peak of his global profile, Scaravilli joined Lucente for the double-CD mix album In the House, issued by Defected in 2003 under the Junior Jack and Kid Crème billing. A pair of later Kid Crème productions, "Doing My Own Thing" (2004) and "The Game" (2006), appeared, yet Scaravilli largely stepped back from studio work to capitalize on his reputation as a DJ, especially in Ibiza, where he maintained frequent residence.
