Biography
In 2011 Vinny Appice, whose résumé lists Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell, and Dio, united with Pantera alumnus Rex Brown on bass, guitarist Mark Zavon, and singer Jason Bragg under the name Kill Devil Hill. The moniker honors a North Carolina coastal community long tied to piracy and its trappings of rum, swordplay, and plunder. Their music merges groove-laden hard rock, brooding post-grunge, and classic mainstream metal, prompting comparisons to Alice in Chains and System of a Down. SPV/Steamhammer issued the self-titled debut album in May 2012.
