Hailing from Texarkana, Sara Skinner crafts alt pop as KillBoy, serving as singer, songwriter, and producer whose work draws from trap, punk, and electro-pop. Growing up in a conservative household prompted her to master production on her own and select the KillBoy name so her family would remain unaware of her music. The 2019 bedroom-recorded debut single “Wheredafucc” quickly amassed millions of streams, prompting her relocation to Los Angeles. Momentum continued through 2020 and 2021 via inventive pop tracks such as “High on My Own Supply,” “Travis,” “Fuck Yo Friends,” and “U + Me,” all of which registered as streaming successes. Following her signing with Atlantic, Killboy released the debut EP My Crush in 2022, then issued the standalone single “Sara” later that year.
