Hailing from Los Angeles in California, LA LOM crafts an instrumental rock sound rich in twang and atmosphere, merging traditions from Mexico, Cuba, and Peru with longstanding influences from jazz, rockabilly, and soul. Their self-titled debut, Los Angeles League of Musicians, came out in 2024.

The trio known as LA LOM, short for Los Angeles League of Musicians, came together in 2019 and includes guitarist Zac Sokolow, bassist Jake Faulkner, and drummer Nicholas Baker. Having all grown up in Los Angeles, the musicians absorbed a mix of bluegrass, rockabilly, and jazz during their formative years. Sokolow and Faulkner connected in their teenage years and performed together in multiple groups prior to teaming up with Baker. Their beginnings involved serving as the house band for five nights weekly at the Roosevelt Hotel along Hollywood Boulevard. This led to an expanding audience drawn to their wide-ranging setlists that incorporated 1930s jazz, country, '60s soul, rockabilly, Mexican boleros, and Peruvian cumbia. Following additional performances, the band issued their first full-length record, Los Angeles League of Musicians, during August 2024, where it climbed to the fifth spot on Billboard's Tropical Albums chart. December saw the arrival of their atmospheric single "Alacrán," which draws from Arabic sources.
