A best-selling Colombian singer and songwriter, Camilo draws notice for his breezy tenor vocals and the catchy mix of reggaeton with Latin pop he favors. Public attention first reached him after he captured the 2007 XS Factor title in Colombia, which opened doors for the 2008 debut Regálame Tu Corazón and the 2010 release Tráfico de Sentimientos, the latter earning his initial placement inside the Colombian and Peruvian Top 40. After serving as host on a children’s television program he turned back to music, supplying material to Bomba Estereo, Mau y Ricky, Juanes and additional artists. Widespread recognition followed the 2020 album Por Primera Vez, driven by the platinum-certified single “Tutu” with Pedro Capo; the project reached the summit of the Billboard Latin chart and secured a Latin Grammy Award. Comparable success met 2021’s Mis Manos and 2022’s De Adentro Pa Afuera, while the EPs Un and Dos appeared in early 2024.

Born Camilo Echeverry Correa in Medellín in 1994, he and his sister Manuela Echeverry formed a musical partnership during their teenage years; an initial audition for The XS Factor ended without a finals berth. He reappeared the next year as a solo contestant and claimed victory, prompting the debut album Regálame Tu Corazón. Issued under the name Camilo Echeverry, that project received modest radio and video exposure yet failed to register on the charts. Additional television work in 2008 included spots on RCN Channel’s Super Pá and the telenovela En Los Tacones de Eva, followed by steady appearances on the children’s program Bichos that continued until 2009, when he embarked on tours across Colombia and the United States. The Sony-issued follow-up Tráfico de Sentimientos arrived in 2010 and climbed inside Colombia’s Top Ten while also charting in Peru and other South American territories. Camilo rejoined Bichos, by then retitled Tu Planeta Bichos, and was chosen as a presenter for the 2011 edition of The XS Factor. He issued the non-charting single “Déjame Quererte Hoy” in 2013 and stepped away from Tu Planeta Bichos the following year.

By 2018 he had abandoned his surname and resumed his recording career, writing hits for Bomba Estereo and Mau y Ricky. Additional credits that year included “Paleta de Ha-Ash” together with “Cuidao” for Yandel and Natti Natasha; he further joined Mau y Ricky and Manuel Turizo on the hit “Desconocidos” and supplied “Pa Dentro” for Juanes while releasing his own single “Japonesa.” Songwriting assignments expanded in 2019, among them co-writing and performing on Sebastián Yatra’s “En Guerra,” and he issued his own platinum-certified single “N Te Vayas.” After contributing to the triple-platinum single “Me Boca” as a featured artist with Mau y Ricky, he recruited Pedro Capo for the single “Tutu,” which topped the Mexican chart, reached number two on the U.S. Latin Pop Songs chart and earned platinum certification. A Shakira-assisted remix also charted, preceding the collaborative track “Boomshakalaka” with Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike, Afro Bros, Sebastián Yatra and Emilia. Two further charting singles closed the year: “Primer Avión” featuring Matisse and “La Difícil.” Both tracks appeared on his third full-length album and first release under the name Camilo, Por Primera Vez, which debuted in April 2020, topped Billboard’s Latin Pop Albums chart and received a Grammy nomination for Best Latin Pop or Urban Album. Camilo additionally claimed the Latin Grammy Award for Best Pop Song for “Tutu.” The subsequent Grammy-nominated album Mis Manos, released the following year, entered the Top Five on the U.S. Latin chart and reached the Billboard 200. Later in 2021 he issued the duet “Índigo” with Evaluna Montaner. De Adentro Pa Afuera arrived in 2022 and contained the hit single of the same name; in 2023 Camilo partnered with Bollywood star Diljit Dosanjh on the Punjabi/Spanish crossover “Palpita.” Early 2024 brought the single “PLIS,” another Montaner collaboration, followed by the Un EP and its sequel Dos several months later.
