Tini has built an enormous following as a singer, actress, and model whose catalog has generated billions of streams, making her one of the most prominent figures in Argentina and far beyond. She first rose as a major pop attraction with the 2016 album Tini, then reinforced that standing through later projects such as Quiero volver in 2018 and Tini Tini Tini in 2020—the year she received the title of Billboard Argentina’s Artist of the Year—while also issuing singles like “22” in 2019, “Miénteme” in 2021, and “La Triple T” in 2022, and joining forces with artists that range from Sebastián Yatra to Alesso. Her fourth full-length, Cupido, surfaced in 2023 and mixed cumbia, reggaeton, and Latin pop into a wide-ranging sound; the set reached the Top 50 of Billboard’s Latin Albums chart. The personal and stylistically expansive Un Mechón de Pelo followed in 2024.

Martina Stoessel, who performs as Tini, gained global recognition playing Violetta Castillo on the Disney Channel teen telenovela Violetta throughout the 2010s. A Buenos Aires native and the daughter of Brazilian television director Alejandro Stoessel, she was surrounded by the performing arts early on. Training in voice, piano, dance, and acting, she made her first television appearance at age 11 as a guest on the children’s comedy series Patito Feo.

In 2011 Stoessel recorded a track for the Disney Princess: Fairy Tale Songs collection and later sang it on Disney Channel Latin America’s televised New Year’s Eve special Celebratón. At 15 she landed the starring role of Violetta Castillo in the popular Disney telenovela Violetta, which centered on a teenage musician returning to Buenos Aires after time in Europe. Across the show’s three seasons she appeared on several associated releases, among them the 2012 Violetta [Original Soundtrack] and 2014’s Violetta: En Vivo. In May 2014 she released the autobiography Simplemente Tini, recounting her childhood and sudden international visibility. The series concluded in February 2015, after which a concert tour sold more than a million tickets across four continents.

The year 2016 marked further milestones when Tini: The Movie (Tini: El Gran Cambio de Violetta) reached theaters and her debut solo album arrived in various markets between April and July. Released by the Hollywood label as a double CD, Tini (Martina Stoessel) contained twelve pop songs by the artist plus a nine-track soundtrack from the film; it charted in multiple European countries and entered at number one in Argentina. In April 2018 she issued the single “Princesa” featuring Karol G, which appeared on her second album, Quiero volver, released that October and also containing guest appearances from Morat, Sebastián Yatra, and Cali & El Dandee.

During 2019, while serving as a judge on Pequeños Gigantes Argentina, Tini paired with Greeicy for “22,” her first Top Ten single on the Argentina Hot 100; she also featured Lalo Ebratt on the hit “Fresa,” her first Top Five entry on the chart, and scored another Top Five hit with the Yatra duet “Oye.” In 2020 she starred in the two-part documentary Tini Quiero Volver Tour and acted as a coach on the seventh season of La Voz Spain. Additional high-charting singles, including the John C collaboration “Duele” and “Un Beso en Madrid” with Alejandro Sanz, preceded December 2020’s Tini Tini Tini, which Stoessel co-wrote with Latin Grammy-winning producers Andres Torres and Mauricio Rengifo; the week of its release she performed the livestream concert Tini Tini Tini Live.

In 2021 she teamed with Maria Becerra on “Miénteme,” which reached number one in Argentina. Stoessel opened 2022 with the singles “La Triple T” and “La Loto,” both of which featured on her fourth album, Cupido. Issued in 2023, the record incorporated cumbia and reggaeton into her cosmopolitan Latin dance-pop palette; it placed in the top five in Argentina and reached the Top 50 of Billboard’s Latin Albums chart.

While touring in 2022 and 2023, Stoessel began recording her fifth album. Titled Un Mechón de Pelo, it appeared in April 2024 and again involved producers Andres Torres and Mauricio Rengifo alongside Felipe Contreras and Zecca. The genre-spanning and deeply personal project included the singles “Pa,” an emotional ballad reflecting on nearly losing her father, the electronic, R&B-infused “Posta,” and the acoustic guitar-accented “Buenos Aires.”
